Hey folks, Trevor DeSaussure here from Lyrics and Lattes to bring you another Hot 16. The past week has been hard for hip-hop. We laid DMX to rest, we lost Black Rob, and we lost Shock G. This is just a reminder that tomorrow is not promised. Do what makes you happy now. That all said, today's lyric is coming from Black Rob, from his song, Star in Da Hood. Ain't nun post-traumatic about it, it's just deep. It's like trying to live out in the suburbs and stay street. Every next level of your life will demand a different version of you. It's called growth, but there are some parts of the past that you need to leave behind you. If you're happy being stuck in the same stage of your life, so be it. But I know a lot of you aren't take certain lessons with you. Take certain people with you, but know when you need to make cuts. Growth and maturity are a key part of life. And after a while, the only thing holding you back from success is you. I've had to do a lot of RIP's lately. One final, one to DMX, an RIP to Black Rob, and an RIP Shock G.
