Jesuit Brother Guy Consolmagno is a scientist and author who has dedicated his life to studying the universe. He is the director of the Vatican Observatory, the oldest astronomical research institution in the world. In this interview, Brother Consolmagno shares his story of how he discovered his passion for astronomy and how he came to be the director of the Vatican Observatory. Who is Brother Guy?

Jesuit Brother Guy Consolmagno SJ is Director of the Vatican Observatory. His research studies the physical properties of meteorites and asteroids. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he received SB and SM degrees from MIT, and a PhD in Planetary Sciences from the University of Arizona. He has served as an officer in the International Astronomical Union, the American Astronomical Society, and the Meteoritical Society. Along with 300 scientific publications, he is the author of a dozen popular books on astronomy and the relationship between faith and science.
