Have you ever noticed that some friends are better for you than others?
Some friends are there for you when you need them most. They steward you through thick and thin, and you can always count on them. They are also rare, which is why they are so special.
According to Sandy Sloane, these are entrée friends.
Salad friends are ones that are good for you on occasion but never quite become the main course.
Dessert friends are great to have because they are easy to have a good time with. But if all you ever have is dessert you'll pay for it in the long term.
Problems arise when you try and make a friend into a different type of meal, i.e. elevating a dessert friend to an entrée friend.
