Well, hello there and welcome to the podcast. Over the Australian summer break, I’m bringing you five of your favourite episodes from the past 12 months. This time it’s a little bit of a get to know you with me, your host.

Back in June 2022, I invited my friend and collaborator, Ilana Kosakiewicz to interview me on the podcast. Listening back, here are a few things that struck me:

I talk in this episode about craving a break from teaching and why I stepped away from education in 2017. But it’s interesting to reflect on the fact that I’ve come really come full circle in a way. I’m off the tools next year, stepping into my role as coach and mentor, guiding and supporting individuals and teams to write and communicate better.

Ilana and I also talk about safety nets and risk-taking - which might resonate with where you’re at right now, especially if you’ve recently changed direction or you’re thinking about it. I share my experience - the good, the bad and the ugly.

The final thing I want to call out is the idea of following your curiosity and where that can lead you. In many ways, this is how I’ve evolved my business - but it’s also my approach to life. I love to ask myself the questions, what am I interested in? What could this look like? What’s missing for me right now?

With that in mind, here’s a little reflection for you to ponder as you listen to this episode - What is it that you’re curious about? And what could you explore further during 2023? When it comes to life beyond work, I’ve really missed singing and performing so I’ve signed up to a choir for term 1 next year. I can’t wait to see where this little adventure takes me and the people I’ll get to meet and make music with. When it comes to the business, I’m curious to explore copy coaching in the workplace and finding out how I can help impact teams to write & communicate with more confidence, better processes and a deeper understanding of how copywriting works.

Enjoy the episode and I hope you’re enjoying some down time right now. I’m hanging out with my family and friends, and back on deck from the 9th Jan.

A little reminder my group program the CCC is kicking off for the next round on Feb 10. The best way to find out when the doors are open is by signing up for my emails. You can do that on the homepage of my website emmmamcmillancopy.com or by downloading one of the resources on my free resources page.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did - and I’ll be back in your ears again soon.
