Have you ever thought about what your true thoughts are about exercise? Do you look at exercise as a means to improve your health? Is exercise just a necessary evil to help you to lose weight? Do you exercise because someone told you it's a good idea? Do you exercise because you want to be able to stay active and fit for life? Do you have a goal to run a 5K or climb a mountain?
We find that exercise is most commonly associated with the desire to lose weight and we usually don't see the results of weight loss soon enough on our journey to keep us motivated enough to keep going when our workouts are far from enjoyable.
One way to facilitate better adherence to an exercise routine is to have an associated reason that you enjoy about it or that it has significant meaning to you when you achieve it. For example, when you have a goal to be able to go bike riding with your children, you'll be more motivated to exercise so that you have the endurance to keep up with your kids.
