The HR narrative that he likes to personally greet all new hires rang less true than him simply wishing to scare the hell out of anyone who won't make it within the company first thing. Well, Gennie St. Cloud is made of sterner stuff than that, Mr. Babylon, I assure you.

I think I can make a real go of it here. Build something on my own terms, with my own hands, not simply handed to me because of my surname. Something I've EARNED.
