When you’re high-achieving, it can be easy to attach your self-worth to your accomplishments, and this includes the external validation you receive as a result of these accomplishments. This can look like only feeling good about yourself when you receive compliments, positive feedback, or any type of validation. The problem with this is that it leaves you in a roller coaster of ups and downs: feeling good when things are going well, and feeling worthless when they aren’t.
