This was the episode I wanted when coming up with the idea of Behind The 'Reel', and I'm honoured to share this sit down interview with Aaron Marino.
Aaron (Alpha M) is someone I first connected with back in 2010, and seeing his channel grow to almost 5 million subscribers has been inspiring. But I wanted to step behind the scenes, and see how Aaron feels about his YouTube success.
We spoke about:
- How he started YouTube and why.
- His lowest points, going bankrupt and struggling for money.
- The negativity he receives on YouTube, and how he struggles to deal with them.
- Sponsorships. Is it all about the money for him?
- Advice he would give to someone starting or trying to grow their YouTube channel.
- How to deal with your mental health and overcome challenges.
It was such a pleasure to sit down with Aaron, get to know him more, and share it with you all in this episode. The main purpose behind this series is to show influencers in a light we might not see them from what they share on social media. Social media is very much a highlight reel, and we often forget these are humans behind these profiles.
I loved Aaron's honesty in this, and his someone I'm truly inspired by watching his growth online since 2010.
