As a civil rights and family lawyer, as a volunteer commissioner for the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. she saw that public policy - and the long-time elected representative - was not serving the constituents in the region. She decided to run for US Congress in the First Massachusetts District. because she knew she could make a difference.
