In this episode of the Why They Did That Podcast, Gem Castor take us on a faith trip. “What do you do when God doesn’t make sense?” Abraham waited over 100 years for a son, for the fulfillment of God’s promise; most of us are unbearably impatient while waiting a few months or years for an answer from the Lord. Abraham holds in one hand the promise of a nation from his seed— from Isaac; in the other, He holds the commandment from God to sacrifice his son. And yet, through this excruciating experience, Abraham’s faith in and love for God was steadfast and unmoved. The mindset of Abraham, and the secret to his faith is revealed in what does before leaving the mountain: “And Abraham called the name of the place the Lord will provide…” Genesis 22:14
