Welcome to another edition of What Barrie's Talking About from Barrie 360! It's a big week with lots to talk about. What Barrie's Talking About is a weekly podcast that brings the local stories that impact you. News stories that you aren't used to hearing!

This week on the podcast, we talk about the challenges facing Empower Simcoe, The Tragically Hip's upcoming works, and a new community program being launched by the YMCA and Georgian College...

What Barrie's Talking About This Week

1) A Resource For PTSD

It's a condition so many Canadians live with and there are not many resources to help people suffering from PTSD. Natalie Harris is looking to change that with her new book on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Our own Ian MacLennan got to chat with Natalie about the new book and how it can help Canadians...

2) The Future of Belonging

The YMCA is known for partnering up with local organizations to start initiatives that will benefit the community. Next on that list is a partnership with Georgian College for their The Future of Belonging program designed to reshape community engagement and innovation

Dan Blakeley sits with Jill Tettman of the YMCA to get the full scoop...

3) Hip Boxsets

The touring is over for The Tragically Hip, but the music isn't. The band is releasing a box set soon that will include all your favourite classics and a few tracks you've never heard. There is also a documentary in the works

Rock 95's Tim Westin gets more info from The Hip's Paul Langlois about the new projects...

4) Challenges Facing Empower Simcoe

It's been getting harder and harder for organizations like Empower Simcoe to help the people who reach out to them. They recently had to shut down a couple of homes due to budgetary restrictions

Will Konken gets the lay of the land from Empower Simcoe CEO Dr. Claudine Cousins...
