Listeners to this show know just how important this year’s school board elections are. Radical right-wing groups like Moms for Liberty have been working to infiltrate our school boards here in Washington, so to raise awareness, we are beginning our coverage this week of crucial school board races across the state. We begin with three women who are running for election in and around Spokane, each against an extreme-right challenger. Jaime Stacy is running for an open seat in the Mead School District. And Debra Long and Cindy McMullen are both incumbents running for reelection to the Central Valley School District board. These are exceptional candidates, and they offer an instructive example of how to fight back against extremism in your school district.
