51- What is Capitalism's Responsibility in Suicide?
Manage episode 356460296 series 3422472
Join Pearl and Jordyn in a passionate and challenging discussion about capitalism and mental health- specifically suicide.
A surprise topic this week! Jordyn brings this easy-peasy topic of Capitalism up to Pearl as a surprise topic for the two of them to discuss this week. Things immediately go off the rails, and the two bring up the hottest of all hot topics (kinda) within the social work world- suicide and bodily autonomy within a capitalistic society. The two talk about how Capitalism plays into the pressures of mental health and the "responsibility" to be healthy. There is some intense conversation about suicide and productivity and how those topics relate to the "responsibility" of staying healthy and happy within a society where that's not always possible. They also recognize their own role within the capitalistic society within this podcast before trying to pick the mood up off the floor at the end of this episode by sharing what they are staying slutty for this week.
