In the latest episode of Off the Boards, we are joined by Kamren Washington, a transfer defensive lineman from Sam Houston State. Kamren comes to Memphis through the transfer portal after a stellar freshman season at Sam Houston State. Kamren was named the WAC Freshman of the Year, totaling 13 tackles and one sack in 10 games.

Kamren details his recruiting process with the Memphis coaches and how the coaching staff made him feel wanted unlike any place he's ever been. He discussed the interactions he had with Coach Pope and Coach Silverfield and how the culture and camaraderie being built at the University of Memphis immediately drew him to the program. He also speaks on his skill set and what he feels he brings to the table for the Tigers. He also shares how transitioning from his high school team's 4-3 defense to Sam Houston State's 3-4 defense makes him excited to get to Memphis and get back to a four down lineman defense that Matt Barnes brings to the table.
