Manage episode 371478550 series 2854518
Starla is a partner, an athlete, a professional cyclist, an empowerer and co-creator of Distance To Empty. She is a planner, a dreamer, a teammate and a survivor! She has endured some very difficult health challenges and continues to show up for herself, her teammates and for the Distance To Empty athletes. Starla leans in and is on a journey to be in the present moment.
Becca Jay (YOU ARE A BIG DEAL PODCAST) and Travis co-host this podcast together. We talk about Starla's 15 year pro racing experience and how she redefined who she was. She talks about how a doctor dismissed her serious symptoms and belief that something was wrong. Eventually lesions were found on her spine and brain and a very challenging journey to healing began. Starla empowers Colorado-based women to get on bikes and to show up for themselves. She is navigating the ups and downs of high and low energy levels and is embracing the mental challenges that come with listening to her body now. We talk about the importance of having fun with racing and how that will often contribute to a good race. You can be competitive AND have some fun!!
