Identity theft is an enormous issue in the modern age. All of us know at least one person who's been affected by it. It's insidious because it violates our privacy and our security. We go to great means to prevent others from stealing what rightfully belongs to us — our unique identity. Did you know that's happening to us as believers too? We have lost our unique identity as Christ-followers. But, the tragedy in this case, is that it wasn't a theft. It was a gift. We've simply given it away in exchange for our own security and safety. Sort of like what Esau did with his birthright...for a bowl of soup!
In this premier episode of Season 2, Fran walks us back into the mist of biblical obscurity one more time, to examine the life of a converted Philistine who got this identity thing right in his day. Let's go learn a thing or two from a guy named Ittai.
