On this episode I sit down with Dr. Aaron Horschig of Squat University to talk about his squat and deadlift movement screen, as well as arthrokinematics of the involved joints. Aaron outlines his movement assessment prior to initiating treatment, his rationale for specific tests per the athlete/sport, the role of the ankle joint as it pertains to optimizing squat function, regional interdependence, the importance of foot stability, differentiating between a squat and hinge pattern, utilizing the appropriate test/retest criteria, and we close out by addressing "butt wink" and its potential implications.
