Easter 4: Journey

The Neighborhood Church

Let's go on a journey with two people who are grieving, questioning, and trying to find hope. There we find Jesus is already there, ready to walk and talk with us. We journey inward and find our eyes and hearts opened, and we journey outward to tell the story to our neighbors. Scripture Focus - Luke 24:13-34 Cleopas and the unnamed disciple left on Easter day confused and at a loss of hope. Jesus walks with them and explains the Scriptures as only He can. While they didn't recognize Him at first, they kept walking and talking and eventually invited Him in for a meal. Upon the breaking of bread, they recognized Jesus, and returned immediately to tell this story. Questions for Reflection: - How do we recognize Jesus in our midst when we cannot "see" Him? - How are we being hospitable to Jesus and the Holy Spirit? - Are we telling our stories of having our eyes opened or feeling our hearts burning?
