Cold Tuesday in St. Louis, I hope wherever you are, you are warm and cozy. Today I wanted to build off of yesterdays conversation around being enough. I want to dive deeper into the concept of dealing with your highest priority weakness and making a daily practice of it. It’s important to know your weaknesses, then to prioritize them…but like with any list of tasks or to-do’s, if you don’t execute it makes zero difference. The daily practice of learning and growing to turn a weakness into a strength is the difference between winners and losers. The winners continue to push through their weaknesses, losers use them as a crutch or an excuse. The best analogy I can come up is you are building a staircase to your next level with bricks. Laying bricks is an art, if you go too fast and skip over the meticulous work of leveling and creating a firm base, you may grow faster early on, but in the long run, your stairs will crumble and you will end up crashing down in glorious fashion. However, if you take the time to do it right, treat each brick with focus and respect, you will build a solid base and stairway to your next level. To bring it back, daily, consistent, relentless, focused, work on your most important weakness (prioritized by yourself) is required to truly take yourself to the next version of yourself. A job, a salary increase, a new car or a bigger house have absolutely zero to do with who you are at your core. They may mask the faulty foundation or lack of polish on “fixed” weaknesses, but your foundation will eventually crumble and all those things will mean nothing. Lay a perfectly level and solid brick everyday and your core will be solid enough to weather life’s inevitable storms. I hope you find this useful, there is no greater satisfaction than that of leveling yourself up. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jason-sullivan/support
