As they embark on this unconventional arrangement, they encounter a variety of characters and navigate the complex world of high society. Along the way, they grapple with questions of love, morality, and the sacrifices they must make to maintain their privileged positions.

"The Glimpses of the Moon" is a social commentary on the superficiality and materialism of the upper classes during the Jazz Age. Edith Wharton skillfully explores themes of marriage, ambition, and the pursuit of happiness in a world driven by appearances. The novel ultimately delves into the consequences of their choices and whether true happiness can be found in a life built on compromises and fleeting glimpses of luxury.
