With the NBA Draft just over a month away, the 2020 NBA Lottery has been set and the draft order is officially locked in. With that, each team prepares for October as some of the best college and overseas prospects all await that fateful day in hopes of hearing their name called by Commissioner Adam Silver. In this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, the guys take a look at the San Antonio Spurs.
San Antonio is coming off a disappointing 32-39 finish to the season, snapping there 21-year streak of reaching the NBA Playoffs. But if there are any positive takeaways from this this past season for the Spurs, it should be that they have a very promising young core made to compete at a high level in the Western Conference.
Dejounte Murray, Kyle Anderson, Lonnie Walker IV and Keldon Johnson headline a San Antonio team that has some big questions to answer in the foreseeable future like "How much longer will Gregg Popovich be the head coach?" and "What are the Spurs going to do with Demar Derozan and Lamarcus Aldrigde?" But come draft night they have a chance to add to that young core and maybe make their decisions regarding Derozan and Aldridge a little bit easier moving forward.
San Antonio has the 11th overall pick (their first lottery pick since drafting Tim Duncan No. 1 overall) and the 41st overall pick. Who do the guys think the Spurs will take with their first NBA Lottery Draft pick in over two decades? Stay Tuned!
