Welcome to our study of the book of Micah. Among the Minor Prophets, Micah stands out for his prophecies of repentance and of hope. Many of his prophecies deal with the upcoming kingdom of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The name Micah is in itself an interesting name. Micah means ‘who is like God.’ As a prophet of God, he reminds people of the nature and power of the God whom we serve. Micah preached at the same time as a contemporary. He preached that at the same time, a very difficult time, as Isaiah and Hosea encouraging the people not to get involved in further idolatry and to turn from their evil ways or impending judgment would come from the Lord.
