Do you ever feel less respected as a female athlete compared to the male athletes? So many times in the past, male coaches have greeted me with a “hey sweetie” or “honey.” I’ll be completely honest with you, that has rubbed me the wrong way. Those dainty, feminine words trigger insecurity and smallness that roots from a fear of not being worthy of working a job in a male-dominated area.

In times like these, I look to the scripture and find where Paul encouraged Timothy to not let people look down on him because he was young, but instead, be a believer and represent with your life. What I realized was that I had to own up to my insecurities. Once I did that, I learned how to resolve these situations with maturity and now I’m paving the way for female coaches that will come after me.

In this episode you will hear:

  • Knowing who you are as a coach
  • Dealing with your insecurities
  • Walking in maturity
  • Leading by example
