Welcome to another episode of the Weekly 3.
The Weekly 3 is a series where I bring you three thoughts, tools, or concepts to help you in your journey, but in a condensed format so you can get what you need and move on with your day with renewed hope, determination, and commitment to your own growth.
This week's topics are:
1. Cognitive Dissonance - Any time we do work to stretch and grow beyond our current selves, we feel like we're straddling identities: the person we were, the person we are, and the person we're striving to be. It can feel incredibly uncomfortable. Many of us make the discomfort mean we must be on the wrong path, and retreat back to our comfort zones. But this dissonance is actually an important and necessary part of the growth journey.
2. Knowing vs. Doing - Most of us know intellectually what we need to do to create the change we want. The struggle is going from knowing to actually doing. Listen to this segment to see how working on your mindset can help you bridge the gap.
3. Top Regrets - Are you waiting to live your life? Learn what people most regret when their time is coming to an end, as shared by Bronnie Ware in her bestselling book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying. Which of the five most resonates with you? What would you most regret? How can you use that awareness to inform how you choose to live your life now?
------
Cited in this episode:
Podcast | ManTalks by Connor Beaton: Weekly Training - Practicing Memento Mori
Book | The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying by Bronnie Ware
Song | Live Like You Were Dying by Tim McGraw
------
Original intro/outro music by JMW.
