Sunny, warm and breezy today with a high of 102. Clear and breezy tonight with a low of 80. Sweltering heat will envelop Dallas for the next couple of days, but relief is in sight. A heat advisory is in place with the temperature expected to hit 100 degrees today and tomorrow. The heat index will be around 105 degrees. A summer cold front from the north is expected to reach North Texas early Thursday, dropping high temperatures into the upper 80s to low 90s for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely but should not be severe; Dallas’ Fifth Court of Appeals has overturned a 2021 jury decision against alleged McKinney FBI informant Jonathan Rute; a Dallas police officer was put on paid administrative leave amid allegations he wrote “aim better” on social media this weekend after an assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump; And, Marlene Tello Fabian grew up speaking Spanish at home and, at first, she struggled with English classes in Dallas ISD. Now she wants to be the teacher who helps kids like her.
