In this episode, I explore the intriguing dynamics of "push and pull" energies that play out in our relationships, particularly through the lens of masculine and feminine energies. Often, without even realising it, we find ourselves attracted to partners who mirror the traits of our parents—sometimes this is because of unresolved issues or patterns we’ve carried from childhood. It’s a fascinating, albeit complex, aspect of how we connect with others.

I delve into the difference between mature and immature energies. To paint a picture, I use the metaphors of steam and ice: steam representing the feminine energy at its most extreme—fluid, ever-changing, and sometimes elusive; ice representing the masculine energy at its extreme—solid, unyielding, and sometimes cold. Both extremes have their place, but true harmony in relationships comes from finding balance between these forces.

One practical approach I suggest for identifying and managing these energies is through the simple act of giving and receiving compliments. It’s a way to observe how we express and respond to masculine and feminine dynamics within ourselves and with our partners. Recognising these patterns is the first step to achieving a healthier, more balanced connection.

I also touch on the darker side of how these dynamics can be distorted, particularly through the influence of pornography. Pornography often colludes with misogynistic views, perpetuating harmful stereotypes and skewing our understanding of intimacy and respect in relationships. It’s crucial that we become aware of these influences and work towards interdependence—where both partners can be strong, supportive, and nurturing without losing themselves in the process.
