The key to getting through a long early labor is distraction and rest! Unfortunately, Rachel, along with most first time moms, was too excited to do either of these things, and her focus on her already long labor made it feel like it was lasting an eternity. Thankfully she learned a thing or two between her two births, and her second experience was much swifter and more empowering, even though it was just as intense.
