Six dreams.
Dream #1

People live in closed Big Box store.

New arrivals are given a job in the community, and some food.

Inside the BigBox store, someone finds a door which leads to tunnels beneath the building. She follows the tunnel a long way until it opens to a room. Other tunnels branch out from here. In the room is a stone table, like an alter with blood collection ruts along the perimeter and a runout to collect blood. The size seems perfect to fit an adult human.

Nobody wants to explore the other tunnels out of fear.

Dream #2

In an open area bordering woods, but with assorted homes of varying construction materials, a man passes a makeshift teepee of branches and light gage steel panels. A woman screams from within.

He looks inside the open door.

An African-American woman there screams, “This baby is coming now. Get me a nurse!”

“Okay!” The man runs to a second location and opens a door. “Where are the nurses?”

“They’re in a meeting in the main building.”

The man runs to a large building and opens the door.

As outside light washes over a room of plastic chairs holding people circled around a speaker and a chalkboard, two or three women yell at the man, “Close the door, we’re having a meeting.”

“A woman is giving birth. We need a nurse,” he says.

“I’ll go,” one woman says. “Where is she?”

A second woman also stands. “I’m with you.”

They jog to the moaning woman and help her to deliver a healthy baby.

A small group of neighbors gathered during the delivery and they all cheer and celebrate. As the congratulations continue, another African American woman arrives. “My husband got a job,” she says.

A white woman says, “My husband also got a job today.”

A third person reports getting a new job.

Then someone says, “A new baby and people are getting jobs. Looks like things are starting to turn around.”

Dream #3

A corpulent woman cleans her house and makes things neat. She slips into a large bed with quality pillows and linens.

She wakes in the morning and learns she lost all her money during the night. For a moment she remains seated on the edge of her bed, worried and fearing the future. Then her face lights up.

“Where did I put it?” She says. She remembers a great treasure she once had. The dream represents it as a perfect light blue sapphire the size of her chest. She begins searching under the bed, under the mattress, in the closet, in the towel cupboard, everywhere. “Where is it?”

After an extended but fruitless search, a voice says, “It’s inside of her.”

Dream #4

A gang ousts a small Indian businessman from his building. The man finds a group of armed militia.

“I’ve heard you’re good,” says the businessman.

After a short negotiation, the Indian man agrees to give the militia half of all the goods in his store to the militia if they can defeat the gang.

The militia force the gang members into the second floor. They conserve their bullets as they have very few. Instead, they throw two grenades, injuring gang members, who then surrender.

The owner fumes over the damaged electronics. “Those ruined goods come out of your half,” he says. His submissive, grateful persona from the first meeting is now replaced by bold rudeness.

“We are the ones who liberated the store. How about we claim it all for ourselves and give you nothing?”

“Half is good,” says the owner.

Note: no cash, only bartering. But there is an expectation things will return to normal.
Dream #5
After an invasion, conscripts and activated reserves assemble. A top NCO tells them, “Hand over all your money. You won’t need it.”
Dream #6
America is occupied and under the control of foreigners. Each person must work a full day. At the end of their work, they receive a voucher. They walk to City Hall, wait in line, then trade their vouchers for one day of food for one person.
Everyone works. Some work has purpose. Others sweep parking lots. Jobs rotate so that all are equal.
