"If God can heal mental illness, then why do I still suffer with OCD?" It's the age-old question of why bad things happen in a world created by a good God. Even if you aren't a religious person, this question has probably plagued you, as well. And if you ARE a religious person, it has likely been even more frustrating. In this episode of The Sooo OCD Podcast, I'll attempt to tackle this question with my own thoughts on the nature of God, sin, mental illness, and healing. There is a lot more to say on the subject and so much I didn't cover. But I think it's a starting point for a broader conversation about the nature of OCD and our approach to it. I'd love to hear your feedback on this episode! Don't forget to subscribe to the show and leave a review on iTunes, and be sure to follow me on Instagram @ladynunnery where I'll soon be merging the podcast account with my personal one. Updates on the show will begin @ladynunnery starting with Episode 6. As always, you will still be able to listen on the website at soooocdpodcast.com. Thank you so much for listening! I hope you enjoy it. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wendi087/support…
What is it like to live with OCD every day? In this episode, I walk you through a typical day in the life of having Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. For some, a typical day is filled with a variety of compulsions and high-intensity fears. For others, a typical day can be much less intensive. I often fall into the latter category because my intrusive thoughts are often only triggered by very specific things, which is why on this particular episode you'll hear me talk more about those triggers rather than how often I'm performing compulsions. Remember: Every person living with OCD is going to experience it differently. This is only one story. Thank you for listening! Please leave a review on iTunes so others can find the show and don't forget to subscribe! How much do our personalities affect our OCD? And which came first: the personality type or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder? In this episode, I talk about these exact questions, specifically in the context of the Enneagram. I share my Enneagram type and talk more in detail about how I came to understand the effects of my faith, my beliefs, and my personality on my OCD diagnosis. For those who are interested in learning more about the Enneagram, here is a list of the resources I mention in this episode, both secular and faith-based: Podcasts: That Sounds Fun with Annie F.
