March 30, 1947, a new and innovative car was introduced to America. An engineer that designed a gun turret used during World War II and developed a prototype “combat car” that was never used during the war because it was deemed “too fast”, was the man behind the vision of this new company. Who could this be?

Lately I’ve been talking about cars with air cooled engines. What a deal, not having to mess with coolant, busted radiator hoses and radiators!

The air cooled cars I had in mind to talk about are the Chevy Corvair, the 911 Porsche, the Tucker and the Volkswagen Beetle.

Today I’m talking about an The Tucker automobile. But wait….was the Tucker really air cooled?

My inspiration for talking about the Tucker was because I thought it was an air cooled car with a lot of innovative features. I was wrong about it being air cooled. But, I was kind of right. I’ll talk more about this in a moment.

Doing the research on this one has been very captivating and informative. There was even a movie made about the car. This is going to be fun to talk about and I know you’re going to enjoy this story.

Final thoughts….

You may not have your first ride, but you still have the memories. It’s time to share them.
