#102 How Storytelling and Creativity Shape Purpose and Success with Luke Gajary
Manage episode 458165153 series 3560181
In this episode of Thinking That Matters, I had the pleasure of speaking with Luke Gajary, a fellow Leadership McKinney classmate and a dynamic professional in the field of digital marketing and communications. Luke currently works at the McKinney Economic Development Corporation, where he handles all things digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, and advertising.
Luke shared his journey from being homeschooled and discovering his passion for writing and storytelling at a young age to publishing his book, Tell It Well, by the age of 27. He emphasized the importance of positive reinforcement from adults during childhood and how it can shape a child's self-perception and future.
We delved into the distinction between a calling and an assignment, highlighting how his calling remained constant even as his assignments changed.
He also addressed common limiting beliefs, particularly the notion that creativity is a rare gift possessed by a select few. He passionately argued that everyone is creative in their own way and encouraged listeners to identify and nurture their creative expressions, overcoming limiting beliefs and perfectionism.
Moreover, Luke provided practical advice on where to start and when to consider outsourcing your social media and digital marketing.
This episode was a rich exploration of purpose, creativity, and the power of positive thinking.
Key topics discussed in the episode:
Understanding the difference between a constant calling and evolving assignments to navigate transitions.
Embracing creativity as a universal trait and overcoming perfectionism to express your unique gifts.
Cultivating positive thinking as the root of meaningful outcomes in life and work.
Recognizing the impact of positive reinforcement in childhood on self-perception and confidence.
Practical advice on starting small with digital marketing and knowing when to outsource
