Manage episode 407421638 series 3559997
Hoppi Wimbish is a remarkable woman whose talents span the realms of sound healing, music, ceremonial artistry, natural shamanism, teaching, and sustainable living.
Fourteen years ago, Hoppi and others transformed a large piece of land into an off-grid eco-village powered by hydro and solar energy. The village evolved and Hoppi developed The Lammas Earth Centre, a temple and haven for sacred work, training, teaching, crafts, and healing, seamlessly intertwining spirituality and creativity.
Hoppi discusses just a fraction of the amazing things she does at The Lammas Earth Centre, including the ancient art of drum birthing and the teachings and practice of natural shamanism.
Hoppi also shares details of a transformative pilgrimage to Arunachala, in Tamil Nadu, India, during which she was guided to let go of her attachment to everything in her life including her businesses and her family. Climbing this sacred mountain in India, Hoppi experienced an intense 11-day ceremony that she refers to as "The Annihilation," experiencing ego death and profound stillness. This became a catalyst for a rebirth - a newfound capacity to create, give and heal.
We also hear Hoppi talk in depth about the concept of entrainment, sound healing, the power of shamanic drumming in accessing alternate states of consciousness, as well as the significance and potency of ceremonies and gatherings.
