One of the most disheartening aspects a woman might observe in a man is his inability to be truly present. In our times, many men grapple with finding the steadfast confidence needed to remain anchored in the here and now. The plague of insecurity is spreading among men, entangling them in a relentless tug-of-war between the shadows of their past and the looming uncertainties of their future. These two forces, like relentless tides, vie for dominion over a man's heart and mind. If he allows himself to be consumed by these ghosts of what was and what might be, he risks appearing weak, anxious, and insecure before his partner. But being present isn’t about dismissing the weight of our past or ignoring the possibilities of the future. It means recognizing their place but not allowing them to overshadow the sacredness of this moment. A man who masters the art of presence exudes a quiet, confident strength that not only reassures his wife but also brings peace to his own soul. When a man is ensnared by the regrets of yesterday or the anxieties of tomorrow, his spirit grows restless, and he may find himself spiraling into the depths of anxiety or even depression. In truth, there is nothing more vital than the grace of being fully present—for yourself, for those you love, and for the God who is with you in every breath. Let us, as men, commit ourselves to this holy endeavor of presence, trusting that in doing so, we reflect the calm, steady hand of God in our lives.
