Being unapologetically female in a man's world is hard, but we can figure it out together.

"I feel like a lot of the experiences that girls go through, whether that be body image, mental health, just not feeling adequate or good enough, I feel like a lot of that is expressed later on in life by women.

Sarah Whitney is the author of "Pretty Young: Being Unapologetically Female in a Man's World." She is a copywriter at Vayner3 and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

This is Sarah Whitney's story...

Episode co-host Jess Bernard talks about how she feels like she's been living in a man's world since she was 13 and how the pressure to be pretty and skinny can be detrimental to young girls.

Sarah Whitney talks about how she has had both male and female bosses and how she feels that women tend to be more vulnerable and compassionate in their leadership. In this episode, you will learn the following:

1. The pressure that young women feel to conform to societal standards of beauty and success

2. The challenges of being a woman in a man's world

3. The importance of personality over physical appearance
