TIME-STAMPED SHOW NOTES
[00:00:00] Intro to Podcast with music and narration
[00:00:43] Host Introduction to the show
[00:01:03] Recap of previous episode talking about our decision-making.
[00:01:19] Introduction to today’s topic.
[00:02:10] Real life example of how we easily and often celebrate, encourage the onset of decisions that are so important, but we don’t have to be in the driver’s seat of that decision i.e. a baby learning to walk.
[00:02:41] Oh, look, look, look! Oh (chuckles), they fell down! Oh, isn't that so sweet!
[00:04:08] We allow the baby to crawl and try and push itself up and we giggle and we support that kid
[00:05:13] But we allow that baby to do something. Because it's in the actual doing of the act that the baby strengthens the muscles, gets to go ahead and explore the environment and that brain, the neurons firing and that baby is learning.
[00:06:21] And in a world of so many I can'ts running through our minds, we often get into the state of paralysis analysis where we get paralyzed. We seemingly can't do anything.
[00:06:21] Give yourself grace that you don’t have to be perfect to attempt your goal: Like the baby to take that step. It's OK to fall. It's Ok not to be successful on that first step
[00:07:34] Realizing that part of being victorious in mind is taking that first step.
[00:08:25] And I wanna tell you here today, that it's okay to try. You're not failing yourself if you try. Living without regrets especially in our post Covid world.
[00:9:31] If we are honest with ourselves, the fragility of life means it's here today and gone tomorrow.
[00:10:09] Keep trying, even if you trip and fall.
[00:10:56] Be encouraged. Examples of people, leaders who took that first step.
[00:11:34] Make the decision even if you can't explain what it is. You can still see it in your imagination.
[00:12:16] Encouragement to break free of some of the invisible prison cells that paralysis analysis put around us. Those tend to be walls of,” I can’t” and “It's impossible.” I'm living proof that it is possible.
[00:13:24] I want to ask you today, ask yourself, what is it that you really, really want to do? That one thing.
[00:14:13] Taking action: Think about that one thing, and then think about what needs to be done to take action. At some point you need to go forth and take it to the next step. The next step was the commitment step.
[00:15:07] Commitment step examples… Shout outs!
[00:15:41] That means you're not alone. There are people around you who are willing to go along with what you're trying to do in the form of encouragement.
[00:16:27] Continued caution to protect your ideas until it's time to deliver the ideas.
[00:17:15] Active looking for someone to walk alongside you as they are not always readily available. Look for them. But you have to be willing to take the first step. No one can take the first step for you, except you.
[00:18:02] So be encouraged. Be encouraged my friends. You can do it. You really can do it. Conclusion
[00:18:09] That wraps it up for today's podcast. I just want to thank you once again for listening. Be sure that you subscribe to this podcast to...
