Johnny Pemberton was born and raised in Minnesota, developed Ulcerative Colitis as a child, got really really into Reggae, then somehow went on to have an actual career in the entertainment industry. Johnny premiered his one person show "Minnesota Reggae Colostomy Bag" at the 2023 Hollywood Fringe Festival. The show marks his first foray publicly sharing a series of highly personal stories that were all previously kept hidden, deep in the shame vault. On this episode of N&H special guest Johnny Pemberton joins us to share how transforming the embarrassing into the hilarious is a celebration of his personal stories.
Johnny Pemberton is a comedian, actor, writer, mildly knowledgeable gardener, and reggae enthusiast. He is the voice of ‘Peanut’ on the Disney XD show “PICKLE AND PEANUT”. Johnny can be seen in the films “21 JUMP STREET” “22 JUMP STREET” “NEIGHBORS 2” “THE WATCH” “ANT MAN” “BAND OF ROBBERS” “THE 4th” “ACTION POINT” “TONE DEAF'' and Armando Ianucci’s Oscar nominated film "IN THE LOOP". He played 'Bo' on NBC’s "Superstore", 'Max' on season 4 of FXX's "You're the Worst", and 'Alangulon' on the FOX series “Son of Zorn”. He can be seen in the upcoming show “Fallout” from Kilter Films and Amazon Studios. Johnny is a nationally touring comedian and host of the podcast “LIVE to TAPE”. He was born in Minnesota and currently lives in Los Angeles.
