#82: On this week's episode, we sat down with Meaghan Navarro Walsh (she/her) to talk about recovery, marriage, identity journeys, and much more. Meaghan is a person in long-term recovery and she also works at The Phoenix as an Onboarding Specialist, working closing with volunteers. She lives in Long Beach, California with her wife and recently celebrated her 32nd birthday. Tune into the episode to hear our conversation with Meaghan, including:
- The emotions surrounding birthdays, and that it's ok to let yourself be excited because you are worthy of being celebrated and feeling joy.
- Overcoming the fear that she had nothing to say that would resonate with folks. As a past guest reminded us, you deserve to take up space!
- Her experience working at The Phoenix, and how we're all just trying to be together, have fun, and stay sober.
- Coming to terms with her "identity journey" and learning to accept herself at what ever point she's at.
- How being sober has been a very humbling experience and she's had to deal with new feelings and emotions, such as learning she's more introverted.
- Learning to blossom out of the mud like a lotus flower.
- Why it's important for her to say she's married, and the pride and gratitude this brings her.
- Touch trees, and how lucky we are to have them.
