This episode features exhibitors under the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) including a newly approved hearing aid, a real-time AI support speech aid for those with compromised voice quality, fall detection via high-frequency radar, and secure digital storage for safekeeping of valuables.
Recorded on February 8, 2024, this show included the following guests in the order they presented:
Joris Castermans, Founder and CEO of Whispp - a CES 2024 Innovation Award winner that uses real-time AI to help those with compromised voice quality (i.e., stuttering, quiet voice quality, and whispering – as with Parkinson’s patients). This solution will help 300 million people worldwide. Exhibitor in the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP Pavilion.
Alex S. Qi, CEO of Pontosense – which offers passive continuous monitoring using high frequency radar to help with fall detection and other monitoring to keep aging adults living safely in their homes for as long as possible. When considering that every 12 seconds there is a fall that results in hospitalization (and that 50% of family caregiver situations originate from emergency falls), it only makes sense to make falls detection an important pillar of your home safety planning. Exhibitor in the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP Pavilion.
Ron Ganot, Co-Founder and CEO of a company called Tuned – which has recently been cleared by the FDA and is working with manufacturers now to make the process of getting hearing aids both easier and less expensive. It's important because it will help with user trial and usage compliance. Exhibitor in the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP Pavilion.
Glenn Shimkus, Co-Founder and CEO of Prisidio - a digital vault for families that helps keep people, places, and things safe and secure via SOC2 and soon HIPAA compliant certifications. Through its easy-to-use app, Prisidio offers peace of mind that the aspect of “planning ahead for the time when they will caregivers” has been taken care of. Exhibitor in the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP Pavilion.
