Rhiannon Grant talks to Alison about the language that we use for God in this episode. There is some background hissing during the interview that we haven’t been able to get rid of – many apologies!

Rhiannon is a Quaker, an academic, and passionate about equality and integrity. She is an author and works for Woodbrooke, the Quaker study centre in Birmingham.

Last year her book Telling the Truth about God was published, which talks about how we improve our ways of saying what we do know about God.

Her new book, Quakers Do What! Why? is an introduction to Quaker oddities. Based on a question and answer format, it is for anyone who has learned a fact about Quakers - perhaps only that Quakers exist - and wants to know more.

Alison & Grace were having a conversation in the summer of 2019 about podcasts and they weren't aware of any at the time that spoke to their context, so they decided to set one up. You can hear more about their thinking about the podcast on the Introductions episode.

Grace & Alison both have some theological education, are members of a charismatic evangelical Church of England church and have a desire to explore what it is to be a Christian woman as a feminist today and the implications of that.

If you have any comments, please let us know at [email protected].

With thanks to Dan Lawrence who wrote and performed our tune & Lawrence Dinh who produced it.

The Recovering God Podcast has been in existence since the summer of 2019. The team has changed over those years but we're delighted to still be offering relevant discussions covering the broad topics of feminism and the Christian faith!
