اپیزود اول:‌ چرا ایمان

قصه ایمان | The Story of Faith

اپیزود اول «داستان ایمان» شما را به نخستین جرقّه‌های پرسش‌گری بشر می‌بَرد؛ به شبی تاریک در دلِ غار که جرقّهٔ آتش روی دیوار می‌رقصد و تا روشنایی آزمایشگاه‌های fMRI امروز امتداد می‌یابد. در این قسمت سرِ نخِ ایمان را از روزگاری می‌گیریم که هنوز واژه‌ای به نام «دین» وجود نداشت، امّا انسانِ شکارچی‌ـ‌گردآورنده با نقشی از «شیرِ انسان‌گون» یا خاک سرخی بر مزار عزیزانش، نشانه‌ای از معنای فراتر می‌جست.

در خلال روایت، از سازوکار مغزیِ «HADD» و نظریهٔ ذهن می‌گوییم تا بفهمیم چرا مغز ما هر خش‌خشی را ارادهٔ یک عامل پنهان می‌پندارد و چگونه همین تمایل، بستر باور به ارواح و خدایان شد. ردِ مقدّس را در هیروفانیِ الیاده دنبال می‌کنیم؛ لحظه‌ای که سنگی معمولی به دروازه‌ای قدسی بدل می‌شود و زمان و مکان را دوپاره می‌کند. سپس پای دورکیم، بویر و دیگر اندیشمندان به میان می‌آید تا ببینیم آیین‌ها چگونه «شور جمعی» می‌سازند و چرا دین، از احساس تا نهاد، به سامان‌دهندهٔ زندگی اجتماعی بدل شد.

این اپیزود دعوتی است به نشستن کنار آتشِ نخستین انسان و شنیدن طنین همان پرسش‌های جاودان: آیا کسی آن بیرون هست؟ رنج چرا وجود دارد؟ و پس از مرگ چه می‌شود؟ آماده باشید تا مسیر هزاران سالهٔ این پرسش‌ها را، از دیوارهای غار تا صفحهٔ مغزنگاری، گام‌به‌گام با هم طی کنیم.
