As we celebrate Black History Month, we present a discussion on Sojourner Truth. Born in 1797, she freed herself from slavery in 1826. She went on to be an outspoken preacher of the Gospel and activist for the abolition of slavery, freedmen and women’s rights. Sojourner Truth was the first African-American woman to have a sculpture in Emancipation Hall in the U.S. Capitol Building. She was designated one of the 100 most significant Americans of all time by the Smithsonian Magazine in 2014. We present the amazing story of her birth, youth, walk to freedom, and calling to ministry to this episode.
