If you train basketball players, this show is for you!

This was our first FREE IFAST Basketball Insider’s Q&A call, and once everyone gets over the fear of asking me questions, I think it’s pretty darn good.

We discuss all sorts of relevant topics – from speed training, to conditioning, to better long-term hoops development – that I think every strength and conditioning coach can relate to.

So without any further ado, let’s dive in!

Teach them to close out in a balanced manner and find their heels first, versus doing a chop where they take 30 steps to slow down. – Mike Robertson

This Week on the The Physical Prep Podcast:

  • Dealing with Achilles issues from both a local AND global perspective.
  • Private sector strength coaches: How to work WITH the local high school S&C program to get better results.
  • Using the weight room to develop strength and lean body mass.
  • My favorite linear acceleration and deceleration activities.
  • And my favorite lateral acceleration and change of direction activities.
  • Should kids just be playing more? Or do we need to focus more time on skill development?
  • The difference between small-sided games and open court versus organized tournaments.
  • Conditioning for the older or overweight athlete – where do you start?
