In this episode, Carlos speaks with his good friend and colleague Ray Zhao from Unitalen Law firm in China about his experience in law before making his way into the IP industry. He also talks with Ray about his latest article, "Judicial Applications of Punitive Damages in China", published in issue 11 of The Global IP Matrix magazine.

Ray Zhao joined Unitalen in 2002 and began to work on IP business. As a senior partner of Unitalen, he successively served as the Director of the Legal Department and the Director of the International Trademark Department. Ray Zhao is currently the co-chair of the Global Advisory Council (GAC) of INTA China. He is responsible for providing advice to the Chairman and CEO of INTA, promoting regional policy development and cross-industry communication. He is also a member of the All-China Lawyers Association, China Intellectual Property Research Society and China Trademark Association (CTA). At the same time, he is a committee member of INTA Unreal Campaign Committee, ECTA Anti-Counterfeiting Committee. And he has delivered keynote speeches at large seminars organized by many international associations and governments, including INTA, ECTA, FICPI and AIPPI in China, systematically introducing China's intellectual property system.
