Rebecca Tavares is a mother of two children—Jackson, 3, and Mina, 13—who shares her experience of how her teenage daughter was unexpectedly diagnosed with scoliosis and how quickly decisions needed to be made, how Facebook became something she heavily relied upon to help her and her daughter cope, and what it was like for her daughter to undergo a major medical procedure—a full spinal fusion.
