Hey mamas! We are back at you this beautiful summer Monday with another great episode! And it’s Book Club Monday! Every 8(ish) weeks or so, we discuss the book we have (previously) announced, and today, we are discussing Make Something Good Today by Erin & Ben Napier! This was a sweet and fun summer read and we hope you had a chance to read along with us! Ben and Erin are the stars of HGTV’s Home Town, and you can find them on Instagram here (Ben and Erin).

In this episode, we referenced our episode. 69 - New Year, New Words. We are halfway through 2019 (what?!) and now is a great time to reflect on the first six months and dream for a minute about the next six! We talked about Erin’s online journal and this article explains why she put her online journal on pause after the birth of their daughter.

We also talked about Brene Brown’s Netflix Special - have any of you watched it? Here is the Teddy Roosevelt quote that inspired the title of her latest book:

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

In this episode, we also mentioned the book, Called to Create by Jordan Raynor, and a book he recommended on his Instagram: Late Bloomers: The Power of Patience in a World Obsessed with Early Achievement, episode 140 of ‘That Sounds Fun’ podcast with Annie F. Downs, and Annie’s latest book, Remember God. Whew!
