Have you ever listened to your favourite podcast and thought, "Holy cats, I could do something like that"? Well, you are absolutely right! Podcasting is on of the easiest and most accessible ways to create your own public media. Whether you educate, agitate, or just chat about your outrageously niche interests with some friends, podcasting can be a way to find and build community, resist this oppressive and deadening society, and become part of a long tradition of subversive public radio! This four-part podcasting series was developed for Eve Tuck's course: "Decolonization, Settler Colonialism and Anti-Blackness", but is intended to be used by anyone interested in starting their own podcast! Episode 4 of Commencing the Podcast Invasion is called: "The Nitty Gritty: Your Voice and Your Mic." In it, one-half of Métis in Space (Chelsea Vowel) goes over some how to produce a more polished podcast in her discussion of: vocal tics, pacing, do-overs, how to use your microphone effectively, and editing!
