Zeus is joined in studio by Dr. Jorina Elbers!
Dr. Elbers is a thought leader and pioneer in trauma-informed medicine. She is board-certified in Neurology, and completed her undergraduate degree in kinesiology, medical training in pediatric neurology, and fellowship in pediatric stroke. She is also trained in HeartMath, EMDR and Brainspotting with adults and children. She holds a Master's degree in Epidemiology from Stanford University. She worked as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital for 6 years. As a clinical researcher, she studied the impact of chronic stress and trauma on the nervous system and has published 25 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.

In 2018, Dr. Elbers left Stanford and began working as the Director of the Trauma Recovery Program at the HeartMath Institute. There, she created an online program that teaches emotional awareness and self-regulation skills for parents and children, and developed a HeartMath Certification course to educate health practitioners about trauma-sensitive, heart-focused patient care. She has been married for 14 years, and lives with her husband and two children in Santa Cruz.
