The constitution, based on individual rights, was seen by local and international politicians and media representatives as a guarantee of endless freedom for the 'rainbow nation'. Nearly three decades later, however, tempers seem to be flaring as the one-party state fails and minorities become increasingly alienated. We are seeking answers to whether the rainbow nation will eventually step out of the shadow of Apartheid and find a path of its own.
