Every one of us shared our stories too; of the trauma of our childhoods, shameful secrets finally shared in the safety of our group, and the family ancestry that has shaped all of us. Coming home from this experience, I was struck by the importance of the stories we tell each other; regardless of the story, whether of triumph or trauma, magic or mayhem; our stories bring us together. By sharing our stories we empower others through our shared humanity, we create connection, love, empathy and hope. We get to delight in our stories of magic and bask in each other’s miracles. In that vein, Megan and I are ready to share our stories; many for the first time.
