The Red Sox closed out their homestand and the month of July with a 3-2 walk-off win in the bottom of the 10th inning against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon. Rafael Devers ended the game with his 3rd hit of the game with an RBI Double that scored Tyler O'Neill.

Sox went 3-3 on the homestand and 13-11 in the month of July. It's the Red Sox 4th walk-off win of the season. It's the 1st Series win since the All-Star Break for the Red Sox. Zack Kelly left the bases loaded in the top of the 10th inning and he picked up the win.

On the Board 1st- Red Sox got on the board in the 1st inning against George Kirby and the Mariners Wednesday afternoon. Masa Yoshida reached with a 2-out walk to extend the inning. Yoshida went 1st to 3rd on a Double by Rafael Devers and scored on a Wild Pitch.

Bello's Day: Bryan Bello turned in a strong outing on Wednesday. He struck out 7 and departed with 2 on and 1 out in the 7th inning. It's his 3rd straight no-decision. #66's Final Line- 6.1 IP. 7 Hits. 2 Runs. 2 Earned Runs. 1 Walk. 7 Strikeouts. 1 Home Run allowed.

Sims in Sox Debut: Lucas Sims, wearing #39, made his 1st appearance for the Red Sox, entering in the 7th inning in relief of Bello. He came in from the pen with runners at the corners and 1 out. Sims retired the 1st hitter he faced on a Pop Up, walked Cal Raleigh to load the bases and then got Justin Turner on a fielder's choice ground out to end the inning and leave the bases loaded.

Gopher Balls: Bello gave up a solo Home Run to Josh Rojas in the 5th inning and that gave the Mariners a 2-1 lead at the time.

Sox pitchers have allowed 27 Home Runs over the lats 13 Games. Sox pitchers also allowed 38 Home Runs in 24 Games in July.

A Nod To Wake: Seattle Starting pitcher George Kirby threw a knuckleball on his 1st pitch of the game to Jarren Duran. Kirby did the same last year as a tribute to the late Tim Wakefield. P.S. Looking Ahead: Red Sox are off on Thursday and open up a 6-Game Road Trip with the 1st of 3 against the Rangers Friday night in Arlington, Texas. Rangers have 2 5-Game Win Streaks in July but are still trying to get back to .500. They've been 9 games below .500 on several occasions--Last on July 4. Rangers have not been at .500 since May 19. Got to 51.52, but then lost 3 in a row.

Welcome To Boston: Nick Sogard was added to the 40-man roster and the active roster Wednesday. Sogard was acquired in a trade from the Tampa Bay Rays in February of 2021. He'll be the 6th player this season to make his Major League Debut with the Red Sox. Alex Cora told the media prior to Wednesday's game that Sogard will see time at 2nd-base against Lefty pitchers. Sogard played primarily SS at Triple-A Worchester but also saw time at all 4 infield positions and on the corners in the outfield. Nick is the cousin of former Big League player, Eric Sogard.
